About
Posted by bluesydude on January 20th, 2006Why bluesyDude? When it comes to music, I love the blues. I love the feelings and emotion that come from the sustained vibrato of a single note played on an electric guitar. You know the one I am talking about, the note that is picked, bent, shook, and held until it returns the sweet harmonic feedback that give you chill bumps, while the bass guitar carries the slow steady beat of the song.
In 1992 I bought a PC with a Soundblaster 16 with FM synthesis in hopes of merging computer and music. I have been working on it every since. The technology has improved so much since then.
I have been playing guitar for many years. My dad was my initial inspiration. He played by ear, no formal training and never learned to read music. Yet, he was one of the most gifted and talented guitar players I have ever known. I have followed in his footsteps, no formal training and I never learned to read music.
Other guitarist that I love to hear are (in no particular order), David Gilmour, Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Robin Trower and Jimi Hendrix. There are many more, but if I just get in a real guitar listening mood, these are the guys I will go for.
I am hoping to use this blog to talk tech plus music. Since I love both and understand neither very well, I will attempt to blog about the technology and music synergy that is taking place. You also need to know where I am coming from - I am a guitarist so most of the stuff will deal with guitars. But, I will try to point to other interesting technological advances that I run across in my research of this fast-paced technology.
I look forward to the sharing of opinions of what’s hot and what’s not.
Stay tuned.
