spotlight.jpgSandman is a remarkable guitar artist. Why use guitar artist instead on guitarist; because he doesn’t just play he creates. He did the following recording, “Chet’s Front Porch” which moved me deeply. It was like listening to my Dad pick again. Oh how I miss not hearing him play. So I wanted to personally thank the Sandman for stirring up precious memories of my dad.

But that is not all the Sandman can do. He can bounce you around to the sounds of the islands, man. But can he play the blues? I say, absolutely! But I’ll let you be the judge.

Do yourself a favor and go to the Sandbox and listen to all the great stuff the Sandman has put together. Leave him some comments and thank him for sharing his incredible talents with us. The songs here that are from: “Sandman” are tunes that George did. You may also see songs posted from: “Bob Sweigart” different people but both great players. Bob was in the spotlight here.

Sandman is great..his style and playing are tops…i can feel his songs,,and feel means real to me..

George is an excellent player and equally excellent choice as RiffCaster Spotlight Player………..if HE”S Bobs hero……….then he’s mine too!

Oh yeah Bluesy, you got it right on the button this time. Old Georgey Boy sands the rust right off my bumpers with everything he does. He likes to put himself right in the firing line with his music (which I really admire) and I can’t detect a trace of any bullet holes yet !!!

Uncle Bill (No 1 fan after Pbobski..lol)

    Wow guys! Thanks!

You know I’ve become hopelessly addicted to Riffworks and Riffcaster and all the great players on there. There are so many people that just rip it up on guitar that are posting songs on riffcaster, I check it everyday. I like seeing the boundries stretched by the different genres that are being posted.

I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface of the possibilites on the acoustic front for Riffworks. So much so that I’m getting a couple more mics and a tube preamp to warm things up a bit (ordered them today actually). Funny thing is, I’ve gotten some great tones going straight in… I shudder to think of the upcoming versions of riffworks.

The reality is that the Riffworks community is a really good group of people. People that help and support musicians (novice to veteran) that are developing musically and expressing themselves in ways they couldn’t before. Perhaps it’s the positivity that makes it work so well. There’s so much negativity on the net these days, it’s very refreshing to see a large group like this consistantly stay on the positive.

My good friend Bob Sweigart had been raving about Riffworks for so long, and I finally checked it out. This now far and away dominates the time I spend in front a computer.

Hats off to all the people that contribute to this ridiculously cool platform for propelling the creative process. Bluesy Dude, Mix, the folks at Sonoma, and all the rest of the Junkies and ‘casters out there. YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

    Thanks Again,

    The Sandman
