spotlight.jpgRick is a most capable guitar player and one more compassionate soul. One of our RiffCaster family recently left town to attend a funeral and upon returning home found that his home had been burglarized and all of his instruments were gone. It goes without saying that loss of a family member is sometimes more than one can bear and then to add insult to injury some low-life violates your home and takes some of your prized possessions. My thoughts and prayers go out to this family. I know what a comfort my guitar was to me after the loss of both of my parents.

Rick recorded and posted this song along with these thoughts, “Can’t think of too many things as scary as what happened to Jesse. Good luck gettin your stuff back man.”

This song “Blues Down in Nashville” was born out of the grief from loss. Rick my hat is off to you my man, you are one gifted individual! Thanks for sharing those gifts with us.

As I mentioned in the song comments for this amazing tune……This is probably the best blues tune ever posted to Riffcaster…….
Mr. West always has a way of making my jaw drop and say to myself “man..that cat can PLAY!”
    What a superb choice…..

Rick is an upredictable talent as he does so much so well. This tune has a killer J. Winter vibe straight from ‘nothin but the blues and beyond (those ‘lectric licks are reminding me from “where’s your Brother? too”)

Simply put Rick always puts out a killer vibe - he smokes in my book.

Rick has been my Superhero from the first time I heard him play !!!!!

Damn, Thanks guys!! No cape here Bill. Riffcasters are some of the coolest people I have ever had the pleasure of coming to know. I feel I’ve made some great friends there. Thanks again, You guys are the best. Too bad we don’t all live in the same town. It would be a helluva band.

These guys have said it all so very well! Rick West has so many great ideas and every time, he sets a diffrent mood with outstanding musicianship. I too heard the Johney Winter vibe on this and what an excelent gift from one friend to another. This guy oozes talent and humanitarianism! Great Guy and great muscian… now lets get him to release a CD for the world to hear! You ROCK Mr. West and so do you Sonomites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Peace!!!

When people ask me who are some of my favorite guitarists, one of them is always Rick West.

Rick is most definately one of my heros. This guys gots mo soul in his little finger than can be found in most cities. The dude plays like Danny Gatton grafted to Johnny Winter. I hope the sorry bastard that ripped him off gets a hole in the ground.

    Rick… You Rock my friend!
